International Family Day
The International Day of Families is observed on the 15th of May every year. The Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 with resolutionA/RES/47/237 and reflects the importance the international community attaches to families. The International Day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families and to increase knowledge of the social, economic and demographic processes affecting families.
In its resolution, the General Assembly also noted that the family-related provisions of the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits of the 1990s and their follow-up processes continue to provide policy guidance on ways to strengthen family-centred components of policies and programmes as part of an integrated comprehensive approach to development.
The International Day of Families has inspired a series of awareness-raising events, including national family days. In many countries, that day provides an opportunity to highlight different areas of interest and importance to families. Activities include workshops and conferences, radio and television programmes, newspaper articles and cultural programmes highlighting relevant themes.

Earth Day
Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Earth Day is observed on April 22 each year. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 192 countries every year.
The name and concept of Earth Day was pioneered by John McConnell in 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco. He proposed March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. This day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations. A month later a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this April 22 Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.
Nature O Soul
Your real nature is as the one perfect, free and actionless consciousness, the all-pervading itnessunattached to anything, desireless and at peace. It is from illusion that you seem to be involved in samsara.

International Women's Day
The best way to go forward is to encourage dialogue between genders so there is greater respect and understanding; there should be dialogue between religious heads of different faiths. Ask them how to improve the lives of women and let's hear what they say. That should be very revealing.
--Anandmurti Gurumaa

Creative Freedom
Open up, create free space; release the bound one from his bonds! Like a new born child, freed from the womb, be free to move on every path;
--Atharva Veda
Mind alone is the cause of bondage and liberation for human beings. The mind attached to sense objects leads to bondage and that which is free of sense objects sets one free.

Freedom From Ego
This self who gives rise to all works, all desires, all odors, all tastes, who pervades the universe, who is beyond words, who is joy abiding, who is ever present in my heart, is Brahmn indeed. To him I shall attain when my ego dies.
- Chandogya Upanishad
The ultimate freedom from the nonexistent ego is to see that it is actually irrelevant.
- Adyashanti
Eradicate self-justification. Then alone can you annihilate your ego.
- Swami Sivananda
How much suffering and fear, and how many harmful things are in existence? If all arises from clinging to the "i", what should I do with this great demon?
- Shantidevi
The ego isn’t wrong, it’s just unconscious. When you observe the ego in yourself, you are beginning to go beyond it. Don’t take the ego too seriously.
- Eckhart Tolle
